The Usul ad-Din (roots of religion) are five principles of faith in Shia Islam.
They are:
- Allah is One (Tawhid).
- Allah is always right and just.
- Allah has appointed perfect prophets and messengers to teach humanity how to live in peace.
- Leaders are needed to protect Islam and guide humanity on how to live in peace.
- Humans will be resurrected (raised from the dead) and judged by Allah.
