Ummah is an Arabic word which means “people”, “group” or “community”. It is often used to mean the collective community of Islamic people.
In the Qur’an, the Ummah refers to a single group that shares common religious beliefs. The Qur’an says that different ummah have existed in history.
The ummah (Muslim community) is based on beliefs in the unity of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad.
