Pesach or Passover is one of the three major Jewish pilgrimage festivals.
It remembers the Exodus, when Moses led the Israelites out from slavery in Egypt. This story is told in the book of Exodus in the Torah.
G-d told Moses to set aside this special week to remember. It was originally called “the feast of unleavened bread”.
During this time, the people eat special foods like matzo, avoid certain kinds of foods (called chametz), do special rituals, have a special meal called a Seder, and sing songs.
It is celebrated around March/April each year.
