In Islam, angels (malak or malaikah) are believed to be heavenly beings. They were created to serve God and communicate with humans.

Belief in angels is one of the six articles of faith within Islam.

Some angels have specific characteristics. For instance, the Angel Jibril helped reveal Islam to humanity.

Angels are said to be made from light. They are creatures of virtue. This is in contrast to evil devils and ambiguous jinn.

Despite being virtuous beings, angels are not necessarily bringers of good news.
