Moshe, Moses, or Mūsa is a person mentioned in the Torah, the Christian Bible, and the Qur’an.
Traditionally, Moses is seen as the author of the Torah. (This is why the Torah is also known as the Five Books of Moses). He is considered the most important prophet in Judaism. He is also considered one of the most important leaders of the Jewish people.
He led the Israelites out of Egypt, guided them through the wilderness for 40 years, received the Torah at Mt Sinai, and prepared the Jews to enter the land of Canaan.
In Islamic tradition, he is an important prophet and messenger.
Christian tradition also sees him as an important prophet.
